Several residential projects and a key transit station are among the $1,875,060,384 in Toronto’s recorded December, 2024 building permits, a decrease from the $2,407,857,629 in permits issued in November.

Here are the details of the top five permits issued in last year’s final month:

$500 million – 1001 Sheppard Ave. E.

This permit is for a component of Concord Park Place: Block 7. Urban Toronto reports that the design includes a proposed 29 and 24 storey mixed-use condominium building, but the permit indicates the structure is 20-storeys tall, and is described as an apartment building. DIALOG has designed the project for Concord Adex on the southwest corner of Sheppard Avenue East and Billes Heights, in Toronto’s Bayview Village,

$250 million – 321 Scarlett Rd. W.

The permit is for a “transit station, subway, bus terminal”. Metrolinx says it is building “a new elevated station on the northwest corner of Scarlett Road and Eglinton Avenue West will provide access to the Eglinton West Trail and existing paths around The Richviews, improving walking and cycling connections to transit.”

$180 million – 400 King St. W.

Urban Toronto describes the project as a “48-storey mixed-use condominium building designed by BDP Quadrangle for Plaza on the northeast corner of King Street West and Charlotte Street, in Toronto’s Fashion District.” The permit says the building will be 49 storeys tall.

$122.6 million – 5840 Yonge St.

Plaza on Yonge at 5840 Yonge St. in North York is a 32-storey condominium building designed by BDP Quadrangle for Plaza on the west side, south of Drewry Avenue, says Urban Toronto.

$144 million – 365 Parliament St.

This 26-storey apartment building has been given the name Daniels on Parliament by its developer, The Daniels Corporation. It is at the southeast corner of Gerrard Street E. and Parliament Street. Urban Toronto reports it is the final building of Phase 3 of the Regent Park revitalization.
