STONEX Canada, with the support of the Terrazzo Tile & Marble Association of Canada (TTMAC) in a strategic partnership, has developed an educational seminar program to address the technical updates, market trends, game changes and influences in the marble, terrazzo, ceramic and tile industries.
The May 16 to 18 show will be at The International Centre, Toronto.
The conference was developed to address the topics of interest to architects, designers, fabricators, contractors and installers as new formats and materials have led to challenges during installations and customer preferences have driven new applications and increase demand for higher value and quality materials.
“The educational program content responds to the needs of professionals for relevant and up-to-date information for application and installation in both residential and nonresidential uses of marble, terrazzo, ceramic and tile”, said TMAC operations manager Violeta Ivanescu. “STONEX Canada speakers will discuss the technical specifications and LEED accreditation advantages of specific materials used in large and small scale projects.”
Bill Wright from Stone Tile International will moderate the Stone Roundtable: Game Changers Influencing the Market, and Large Format Tile Roundtable: Innovation Driving the Market along with panelists such as Martin Davidson, principal, Diamond Schmitt Architects; Michael Picco, president, Picco Engineering; Glen Pestrin, Chief Executive Officer, York Marble, Tile and Terrazzo; Karl Hanley, technical specialist, Centura Tile; Dale Kempster, technical director, Schluter Systems (Canada); and Sherri Wildman, district architectural manager, Ardex LP.
“The roundtables are a focal point of the conference”, said show director Nasser Deeb. “The panelists will address the recent changes to new product formats, new applications of materials, and regulations governing the industry.
