Toronto radio personality and business broadcaster Lou Schizas addressed the Ontario Hot Mix Producers Association (OHMPA)‘s annual general meeting in Toronto on March 26.
Schizas is a life-long investor who bought his first stock at the tender age of 11 and started his first business at 15. He found his way to Calgary where he held ‘real jobs’ in the construction sector for many years before starting the city’s first comedy club.
Schizas then entered the financial field, working as a financial advisor and writing a personal finance column for the Calgary Sun. He also hosted a popular radio program called ‘The Money Manager”.
He draws inspiration for his life philosophy from the business world, as well as from the stories of those he encounters. He calls his vision of an ambitious life richly-lived, “happy capitalism”.
Schizas is the ‘business guy’ for the John Oakley Show on Corus Radio’s AM 640 Toronto Radio. His successful ‘Happy Capitalism’ segments also air on The MacArthur Show on AM980 in London and have been heard on AM 940 in Montrealand AM 770 CHQR in Calgary. He’s also a professor of finance at Sheridan College in Oakville.
