David Mutombo has joined Hatch Mott MacDonald (HMM)’s water and wastewater practices for Canada. He is based in HMM’s office in Burlington, Ontario.

In a news release, the practice says Mutombo has more 15 years of experience delivering water and wastewater projects in Canada and internationally in South Africa, Nigeria, and Algeria. Clients in Canada have included the Cities of Calgary and Saskatoon, and First Nation communities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. “His experience encompasses process engineering, hydrogeological water sourcing, surface water management and marine and aquatic science, project management, and operational expertise,” the announcement says.
His portfolio includes the Bearspaw biological nutrient removal/membrane bioreactor (BNR/MBR) Wastewater Treatment Plant in Calgary, the Saskatoon Wastewater Treatment Plant Ultraviolet Disinfection System, and the Water Treatment Plant Low Lift System Upgrade in Saskatoon. He served as the water and wastewater lead for Shell Canada’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in British Columbia.
Mutombo has worked worked extensively with the oil and gas industry on water sourcing, water treatment, utilities, and infrastructure development in Western Canada.
