Summer is in full swing and the rush to get some vacation days and events planned for the kids is almost drowning me. It is the busy time of summer where you are trying to relax, get ahead of projects for the fourth quarter of the year and get your kids ready to return to school. Our two oldest both start first years at their respective colleges and our youngest two will be moving up to Grade 10.

It was a good month with steady growth with our new daily digital newspaper, the Ontario Construction News with increased Certificate of Substantial Performance (CSP) notices as my third print and digital advertiser has signed up for the publication.

Ontario Construction News will be attending the Niagara Construction Association’s Annual Membership Event and BBQ. We will be part of the member showcase and I hope to be testing out our new television display and a few options to present the daily digital newspaper and promote the new choice for CSP ads. We will be running a draw and I will have our new pop-up display banner for all to see. Watch for photos and news coverage in our October issues.

Also, here is a quick update about the Barrie Construction News magazine, the official publication of the Barrie Construction Association. We are now 90 per cent sold out with a few premium spots and editorial options available. Deadline is Friday July 26 to reserve your spot. This issue will also be on display at the Buildings Show in Toronto this December.

Does your company have any employee events coming up that we can cover in our magazines or daily digital newspaper? Send us an invite and if we can get a staff photographer out and we will capture some great photos and provide some editorial coverage. You can also send me your photos and a media release for the event and we will get it published.
