TORONTO — The Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) is marking Women in Construction Week with a Toronto networking and panel event while also issuing a national call for speakers for its 2026 conference coming up in September in Calgary.

“In Conversation with Women in Construction” takes place March 4 and will bring together women from across the construction sector for a morning of connection and dialogue. Hosted at WeirFoulds LLP in downtown Toronto, the event will begin with coffee and informal networking, followed by a panel discussion featuring industry leaders sharing real-world insights and perspectives.

Organizers say the gathering is designed to celebrate the impact of women in construction while exploring the challenges and opportunities shaping the industry, from workforce development to leadership pathways. The event runs from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with registration opening at 9:30 a.m., at 66 Wellington St. W., Suite 4100, TD Bank Tower.

At the same time, CAWIC is inviting proposals for its 2026 National Conference, “Tools for Transformation,” a flagship event focused on the practical strategies and bold ideas reshaping how the industry builds, leads and collaborates.

The conference will spotlight tools that empower women to transform their careers and workplaces, with programming centred on interactive sessions, candid conversations and actionable insights.

CAWIC is seeking speakers who can deliver:

  • Practical tools and strategies attendees can immediately implement to elevate careers and projects
  • Innovative approaches that challenge the status quo and advance the industry
  • Leadership frameworks that build confidence and strengthen executive presence
  • Equity-centred solutions to foster inclusive, high-performing workplace cultures
  • Workforce development and mentorship models that open doors and build strong leadership pipelines
  • Community impact and advocacy initiatives that amplify women’s voices

Organizers say they are particularly interested in sessions that “ignite courage, spark bold thinking, and leave attendees feeling equipped, empowered, and ready to take action.”
