Toronto issues $1.287 billion in March building permits

The City of Toronto issued $1,287,183,720 in building permits in March. The city processed 3,369 permits. While the permits issued declined from about $1.56 billion in February, the overall number of building permit applications filed in the month reached more than $5 billion, according to city documentation.

The data reflects permits issued between March 1 and March 31, and includes a range of projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. The city reported issuing permits valued at $1.56 billion in February.

$410,000,000 – 266 King St. W.

The permit is for a 73-unit condo tower, one of two structures on the site. Urban Toronto reports the Forma project developed by Great Gulf, Dream Unlimited and Westdale Properties will include  residential (condo), commercial (office, retail) and institutional uses.  Gehry Partners is the design architect, while the architect of record is Adamson Associates Architects.

$140,000,000 – 801 The Queensway

Graziani + Corazza Architects designed this 10-story condo/retail structure in Etobicoke for Marlin Street Developments. There will be 206 units when the building is completed.

$100,000,000 – 30 Guilder Dr.

Urban Toronto reports this 27-storey building will have 341 affordable and market-rate rental units. The Rose Corporation is the developer and the designer is KIRKOR Architects and Planners.

$65,000,000 – 95 Haynes Ave.

The permit is for one of two eight-storey buildings in the Quad Student Residence Phase 3 at York University. The structures were designed by Ark for Campus Suites and Forum Asset Management, Urban Toronto reports.

$51,000,000 —  90 Mike Myers Dr.

            The 3-storey Hellenic Home for the Aged  in Dorset Park is a 128-unit long-term care home designed by MC Architects Inc.
