Happy New Year and welcome back to work after a nice break away from the office where I hoped you had a chance to do what makes you happy. With our daily production, I had to stay close to the office for a few mornings. That however did not impact my great break.

Behind the scenes here we rolled out some major updates to our front-end order system and back end processes at Ontario Construction News. After beta testing for almost three months we rolled out new updates for our customers, readers and visitors to the ontarioconstructionnews.com site.

You now have the option to submit your Certificate of Substantial Performance (CSP) notices and other forms through an online self-serve option. This speeds up our publishing process, with the ability to publish all notices signed off by 6 p.m. the day before publication Monday to Friday (excluding holidays). Compare this speed to the previous 48-hour roll-out. You can have your certification/proof of publication in less than a day, speeding up the clearing of your holdback and improving your business cash flow.

As well, for new postings from Jan. 2,  you can view the original form/certificate, and on request, will make this option available for notices posted earlier.

We have also partnered with a new company to enable faster delivery turnaround time for Ontario Construction News printed copies, with 12 convenient locations for same day or next day pick up options (depending on when you submit your order), or we can mail or courier the newspaper to you.  The changes, we anticipate, will result in reduced costs for printed copies, but of course you certainly can view the publication online without any subscription cost.

Keep me posted on your events or news which we can publicize for you and the industry.
