PCL Constructors Canada Inc. says it has appointed Terry Olynyk to the position of director, Business Development, in Toronto. He will report to PCL Toronto senior vice-president and district manager Todd Craigen.

In this new role, PCL says Olynyk will focus on business development and strategic growth. “He will be responsible for managing district business development practices and strategies, including market research, planning, and relationship management, while supporting district goals based on strategic vision and priorities,” a news release says.

“Terry is an accomplished builder, leader, and strategist,” Craigen said in a statement. “I am confident in his ability to influence a culture of innovation that will help PCL shape current industry practices to create long-term success for PCL, as well as our clients and partners.”

Oylnyk has more than 25 years of construction experience. He joined PCL in 1998 and has served in various positions ranging from district building systems manager to Integrated Business Unit (IBU) manager to senior construction manager. “Under his leadership, the district successfully launched the Renewable Energy IBU in 2011, which quickly propelled PCL into a position of leadership in Ontario’s Renewable Energy market, generating over $700 million in new work,” the announcement said. “Most recently, he has led PCL Agile, which is experiencing strong growth and has strategically positioned PCL to leverage this nontraditional business unit for success, something he will continue to support in his new role.”
