Jacobs has been chosen by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) as the owner’s representative for the Long-Term Investments in Facilities and Terminals (LIFT) Gateway program at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The multi-billion-dollar project is part of the airport’s capital plan to address immediate passenger growth while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel.

Passenger demand at Toronto Pearson is expected to reach 65 million annually by the early 2030s, driving the need for significant infrastructure expansion and upgrades. Jacobs will provide program management, construction management, and technical advisory services for the program, including expanding terminal facilities to support mid-term growth.

“GTAA’s investment will modernize and improve existing infrastructure and access at Canada’s busiest airport,” said Heather MacDonald, Jacobs senior vice president and executive director of sales, Canada. “Leveraging our global experience, we’ll help deliver a smart, future-ready facility that supports sustainability and creates a world-class experience for travelers.”

The Pearson LIFT Gateway program is a key step in shaping the airport’s long-term growth and reinforcing its role as a major transportation hub for Canada and the world.
