The Canadian Building Suppliers’ Network (CBSN) organized a Green Building Business event at the Lone Star near the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on March 25, attracting more than 60 people including representatives from national construction companies, green industry professionals, energy management service providers, property owners, real estate brokers and enterprise companies, says CBSN president Wayne Proulx.
“We are incredibly pleased to see the continued commitment to creating more ‘sustainable’ real estate and the recognition that the CBSN Supply Chain Sustainability Certification Program (currently in development) will play a crucial role in that commitment,” he said.
Peter Love, first conservation officer of Ontario and chairman of ReThinking Sustainability attended, along with Bob Willard, a sustainability author and speaker, who provided several copies of his book “the New Sustainable Advantage.”
“I applaud CBSN’s effort to develop and implement a supplier sustainable assessment, training and improvement process,” Willard said. “This exciting initiative will help build sustainability traction in the building industry.”
Meanwhile, Investco president Andrew Heintzman provided copies of his own book, The New Entrepreneurs.
Airtron Canada (a Direct Energy company) sponsored the event. Toronto Hydro Electric Services Limited was the food sponsor.
