GTA Construction Report special feature

Women seeking to get started in construction industry careers and those already working in the industry wishing to advance can find support through CAWIC’s mentorship program.

Members from diverse professions including project management, general contractors, estimators, lawyers, engineers, architects and skilled trades “can assist with advice and guidance drawn from their considerable experience in the industry,” CAWIC’s website reports. “A mentor is aware of the hurdles and challenges along the way and may help an inexperienced woman overcome these hurdles before these turn into obstacles.”

CAWIC members are encouraged to become mentors, giving a “couple of hours each month to share knowledge and experience.”
