Nominations are open until Dec. 5 for Enerquality’s EQ Awards, recognizing planning, design, construction and marketing for energy efficiency and sustainability in the Ontario new home building industry.
“ENERGY STAR is the most trusted brand for energy efficiency in Canada, and awareness is increasing that new homes can be qualified to this high standard,” said EnerQuality president Corey McBurney. “We must recognize those builders who are continually improving, and pushing the boundaries through innovation.”
Awards are granted in a number of categories, including the Building Innovation Award to recognize a builder who has demonstrated technical excellence while implementing high performance building practices; and the Ontario Green Builder of the Year award that recognizes an outstanding home builder that has led the residential building industry in environmental responsibility. Winners will be announced at the EQ Awards Gala on February 19, 2015 at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel and Suites in Richmond Hill, Ontario, following a full-day housing EQ Forum.
